The Sound Behind the Music
THREE GUYS MAKING LOTS OF NOISE IN BROOKLYN
As musicians, Niall, Justin, & George all bring something different and special to the table. Our tastes vary, but when we write a song, our individual energies emerge to create a sound that is distinctly The Spent Priests. The subject matter of our songs ranges from emotional anguish to questioning of self, others, society at large. These ideas mixed with music that evokes a gutteral, almost primal vibe lets you know that you're listening to something real. We've been compared to Queens of the Stone Age, The Stooges, Alice in Chains; we've even heard Black Sabbath and Tool. Right now, we're in a great spot creatively. As we mix & master the last few tracks from our latest recording session and continue to rehearse for upcoming gigs, we're also working out the arrangements for five new tunes that we're pretty psyched about.
Shout out to the many great bands in Brooklyn: The Subway Ghosts, Frank, Heartbreak Lake, This Is A Low, Cleavage, we know there's more. We love sharing the stages of Arlene's Grocery, Young Ethel's, WildEast Brewery, HiFi Provisions, The Hart Bar, etc. with all of you.
